The University of Zambia (UNZA) has taken a significant step towards strengthening sanitation research, innovation and knowledge development in Zambia with the ground-breaking of the UNZA Sanitation Hub, in partnership with BORDA Zambia.
Officiated by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Zambia, Professor Mundia Muya, the milestone marks an important phase in the Universityโs ongoing efforts to advance research and innovation that responds to national development priorities.
The UNZA Sanitation Hub will provide a platform for research, capacity building, knowledge exchange and policy engagement, bringing together students, academics, researchers, practitioners and sector stakeholders to generate evidence and support practical solutions to Zambiaโs sanitation challenges.
The Hub also represents the value of collaboration between academia and practice, creating opportunities for research to inform practice, practice to strengthen research, and evidence to contribute to policy and decision making.
As the University continues to strengthen its contribution to sustainable development, the UNZA Sanitation Hub will serve as a space for learning, innovation and collaboration towards healthier, more inclusive and sustainable communities.
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in sanitation research and innovation at UNZA.
